In a world of limitless options, it is imperative that you are able to get your customers coming back to your business. Whether you have a loyalty program or not, you need to build long-term relationships with your customers to…
We were recently featured in a fantastic blog post by Maitre’d Point of Sale (POS) to recognize the phenomenal results Spoonity delivered with the Bridgehead loyalty and quick pay system. The blog post starts by introducing the origins of Bridgehead. It goes on to talk about how Spoonity was brought in to address the shortcomings of Bridgehead’s existing paper punch card system:
One year and 1.5 million transactions through the Spoonity platform by Bridgehead Coffeehouse! This time last year we were spending sleepless nights ironing out the kinks of our brand new rewards and quick pay platform. Just one year later it’s proven to be a tremendous success with 65,000 members across 15 stores in Ottawa. That works out to 4,300 members per store!
We commissioned a local bakery to make a cake to mark the occasion with a beautiful graphic printed in edible ink across the top.
We’ve been busy adding new clients as quick as we can. Often with a new client comes a new point of sale system we need to support. The process for supporting a new POS involves installing a copy of the software on the lonely test computer in our office, a re-purposed quad core desktop computer. The problem is that we are bringing on so many clients & POS systems that our poor test computer is struggling with the load of multiple virtual machines constantly being accessed by our development and testing teams. So far we’ve built support for or are in the process of supporting POS systems like Maitre’d (7 &8), Halo, Volante, Micros, and Positouch. With so many new systems we tried splitting the load onto two computers and adding as much RAM as they could handle to no avail. It was time for a new system.
Enter the Dell Poweredge R900 server: 100 pounds of American computing muscle! Seriously though… it took two people just to carry it into the office. This machine, originally built for scalability and data-demanding enterprise applications, should be more than enough to run dozens of Windows environments for each POS system simultaneously without breaking a sweat. For you spec geeks out there this machine has 4 Xeon CPUs with 6 cores each for a total 24 cores along with 64GB of ram and 4 hard drives at 10k RPM setup in a RAID 10 configuration.
This week we crossed a major milestone in the company: one million transactions processed by Spoonity. This means that customers have used a Spoonity powered program to pay, earn points, redeem rewards, and reload over one million times. When we…
We’re excited to launch a much requested feature for Spoonity-powered iPhone apps: Passbook integration. This new feature will make it even quicker and easier for iPhone-wielding customers to pay with their card balance & earn points for their purchases in store. Here’s a rundown of how this integration will work:
Step 1: Getting Started
Customers with a compatible phone will now see a new Passbook icon on their menu screen inside their favourite merchant’s app. Selecting this icon will bring the intro screen with a brief description of what Passbook offers.
We weren't the only ones who thought that Bridgehead's recent 500,000 transaction milestone was a big one. CTV News approached us to film a segment on the partnership between Spoonity and Bridgehead and we were more than happy to oblige.…
We’re happy to announce a significant milestone for one of our favourite clients. Today Bridgehead Coffehouse passed 500,000 completed transactions in under 4 months of running the Spoonity loyalty and quick pay system at 15 locations across Ottawa. That’s close to 2,500 transactions per day in which customers scanned in with a card, fob or mobile app and spent money, earned points, or reloaded their account.
The system has proven to be a phenomenal success and we congratulate Bridgehead on a note-worthy milestone. Next up: 1,000,000!
We’re very excited to announce an awesome new feature to the Spoonity system: eGifts! Spoonity merchants can now turn on this feature to allow their customers to send gift certificates by email to friends and family for whatever occasion they’d like. Here’s how it works:
Customers can order their eGifts through the merchant’s Spoonity mobile application or website and pay with their credit card. They can add a personalized message and choose exactly how much they would like to send.
